Get to know six different stories of six very different women who have left their mark on Barcelona.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Santa Eul\u00e0lia<\/b><\/span><\/span>, the saint and martyr, patron saint <\/span>of Barcelona. A strong woman who confronted the Governor of Barcino in the 7th century because of the persecution of Christians, for which she was imprisoned, brutally tortured and crucified.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Anna Muri\u00e0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span>is one of the most important Catalan journalists of the 20th century. Feminist committed to the education of working women. She was a restless and active woman in politics, an activist for several parties, and collaborated in publications such as La Rambla, Diari de Catalunya or La Dona catalana.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\n Carmen Laforet<\/b>

\n<\/b> <\/span>one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. At the age of twenty-three<\/b>.<\/b><\/span>won the Nadal Prize with<\/span><\/b>“<\/span><\/b><\/span>Nothing<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>,”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/i>his first novel. He came to Barcelona to study Philosophy and Letters, an experience that would inspire him to create his own<\/span>.<\/span>best-known work. Its pae<\/span>ginas run through Las Ramblas<\/span>, the Barrio Chino, Aribau, Drassanes or the Gothic Quarter.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\n Ana Mar\u00eda Moix,<\/span>
\n<\/b> sister of the well-known novelist <\/span>Terenci<\/span> Moix was born into a destabilized family, with parents with 18 divorce decrees drawn up, living between shouts and brawls. To survive this, Ana Mar\u00eda decided to shut herself up in silence, to make herself as invisible as possible. Of exceptional intelligence, at the age of 7 she was promoted to a grade with those twice her age and, at the age of 12, she began to write poetry with the influence of writers such as B\u00e9cquer, Azor\u00edn and Ana Mar\u00eda Matute. Known to her brother’s friends as “La Nena” because of her young age, she was introduced to circles of the “<\/span>Gauche<\/span> <\/span>divine<\/span>“, an environment of rebellious writers, filmmakers, architects, artists, journalists, etc. admirers of the French ’68, who would be portrayed in his book “24 hours with the Gauche <\/span>Divine<\/span>“. His last work, “Personal Manifesto” (2011), is a denunciation of all the ills of Spain at that time, poorly educated young people, trash TV, consumerism, collapse of the welfare state, poverty, racism, classism and exploitation. \n Teresa Claramunt, the Spanish Louise Michel, <\/span>
\n<\/b>sHe dreamed of a more just, more beautiful and humane society. The daughter of a proletarian couple, she dropped out of school to work in a textile factory. At the age of 21, she took part in the seven-week strike to demand more decent wages and working hours. Because of the strike, Teresa was fired, and would never set foot in a factory again. Shortly afterwards he married and had two daughters, Proletaria Libre and Acracia, thus making clear his declaration of intent. She was the founder of the Section of Various Trades of Anarco collectivists of Sabadell and, later, the Autonomous Society of Women, the first Spanish feminist society. Their main denunciation was the degradation of working women in the face of working men. Teresa was unjustly imprisoned for being linked to the attacks on the Lyceum (1893) and the street <\/span>Canvis<\/span> Nous (1896), in which he had had nothing to do. Teresa’s last years were spent in Barcelona, ill due to the treatment she received in prison, always surrounded by friends and family. Teresa never lost the love that surrounded her and that was a large part of her life.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
