In this experience, you will discover the “Ribera del Duero” Designation of Origin located on the northern plateau and at the confluence of four provinces within the Autonomous Community of Castilla y Le\u00f3n: Burgos, Segovia, Soria, and Valladolid.<\/p>

Alongside the “Rioja” Designation of Origin, the Rioja Alavesa subzone boasts 13,500 hectares of vineyards and several hundred wineries, resulting in an annual average of about 40 million liters of wine. The area’s clay-limestone soils, ideal for vines to absorb necessary moisture, produce red wines with specific general characteristics, such as a bright, vibrant color, a fine aroma, a fruity taste, and a pleasant palate.<\/p>

Red wines are the most representative of the region and are made with Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano grape varieties.<\/p>

The Abbey of Retuerta is a famous monastery founded in the 12th century, located in the province of Valladolid (Castilla y Le\u00f3n), with luxurious rooms and suites designed to preserve the historic atmosphere of the setting. The Abbey of Retuerta is also known for its high-quality wine production, “Pago de la Gardu\u00f1a,” a Protected Designation of Origin Vino de Pago.<\/p>

With wonderful vineyard views, bicycle rentals to explore the surroundings, and one-hour access to the Sanctuary, Wellness Center & Spa, as well as the Gym and Yoga Room, upon reservation.<\/p>

Bodegas Muga<\/p>

This historic winery is one of the most prestigious in La Rioja and produces some of the best wines in the region. You can arrange a visit and tasting to learn all about the wine-making process.<\/p>

Calle del Laurel – This lively street in Logro\u00f1o is a popular place for tapas, with dozens of bars and restaurants serving delicious small plates of local specialties.<\/p>

Monastery of Suso – This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Spain’s oldest monasteries, dating back to the 6th century. It also houses some fascinating ancient frescoes.<\/p>

Laguna Negra – This stunning natural lagoon is nestled in the mountains near the town of Vinuesa, and is said to have inspired one of Spain\u2019s most famous legends. There are magnificent hiking trails around the lagoon, and the scenery is breathtaking.<\/p>

Santo Domingo de la Calzada – This picturesque village features a beautiful cathedral and has a fascinating history as a pilgrimage destination on the Camino de Santiago.<\/p>
