Gaudí Centenary

The Invisible Garden: An exceptional heritage discovery

Letter of exclusive access
There are places that time chose to keep in silence.

Gaudí’s Invisible Garden is one of them.

For a century, no one searched for it. No one documented it.
No one visited it. Today, only Barcelona Art of Travel
holds the key to that silence.

And you are among the few privileged individuals
we have chosen to cross that threshold.

A secret laboratory
carved in stone

In 1906, within the grounds of the former Sant Boi de Llobregat asylum, an extraordinary ensemble took shape: a cave-waterfall with seven-pillar hyperboloids, trencadís benches and a chapel steeped in symbolism. For a century, it remained invisible to the world.

A Cum Laude doctoral thesis at ETSAB/UPC brought it back to light. And with it, a question that today divides the world’s foremost Gaudí scholars.

What if Gaudí secretly rehearsed here the solutions that would later define the Sagrada Família, Park Güell and La Pedrera?

The cave’s hyperboloids appear in the Sagrada Família nine years later. The trencadís benches predate those of Park Güell. Geometry, as always, does not lie. Or perhaps it does.

Nobody holds the definitive answer. You will have the real elements before your eyes to form your own.

Access

You can only discover it
with us.

This secret garden exists in no guidebook, no booking platform, no tourist itinerary. It is available exclusively through Barcelona Art of Travel.

A unique experience, designed for you alone.

In an intimate group of up to 12 people, our Gaudí specialist architect will guide you through a journey that goes far beyond any conventional visit.

You will understand why every stone, every curve, every geometry of this secret garden anticipates the great works Gaudí would build in the years that followed.

You will feel the same atmosphere breathed by the patients who built it with their own hands — an act of beauty and healing unique in the history of architecture.

You will form your own considered view of one of the most alive academic debates of the Gaudí Year, with the real elements before your eyes.

You will leave having seen what almost no one has seen. And having felt something that no other space in Barcelona can offer.
