The Barcelona of the Gothic Quarter, where he lived, studied and worked, where he had his workshops, where he enjoyed himself… It is in this district that the Picasso Museum is located, the centre of the artist’s most important collections.
Pablo Picasso’s relationship with Barcelona dates back to 1895, when he settled in the city with his family. The Ruiz-Picasso family, as they were called, took up residence there. The young artist lived there on and off until 1904, when he moved permanently to Paris. Despite the distance, family and friends would keep him forever in the city that opened the doors to modernity.
